Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

IMG_0944

Fishing has been great in the Noosa River with a range of species appearing again. During the past week we have seen some nice tailor caught up and around the river mouth. The best bait for targeting tailor is pilchards and mullet strips. Whiting have been about in the shallow flats and drop offs, mainly up and around the river mouth with live worms and yabbies being the preferred baits. Bream as always, are showing up in numbers around structures and deeper holes such as the Noosa Sound bridge ranging up to 35cm with prawns and yabbies being the best baits. The stretch from Munna Point to Tewantin has produced some quality trevally and whiting as well. The cable ferry crossing and Makepeace island area has been a hit spot for flathead with soft plastics being the best form of fishing. The weather looks pretty good for the next week although the winds are up making it slightly harder to drop a line.

Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.
