Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Rodger was one of many anglers getting into the nice sized bream about lately. A day out fishing on Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures made his holiday when up from Lake Entrance, Victoria.

Whilst the lower reaches around the river mouth, Frying Pan and Woods Point has given anglers plenty of  bream and flathead and the odd trevally, further up river in the murky waters were more consistent.
Before the car ferry and both entrances to Lake Cooroibah produced flathead, bream and the odd trevally and between the lakes a few jew fish and mangrove jack. The whiting are getting better in numbers and size and found through the Noosaville sand flats and between the ski run and ferry.
The Woods Bay on the run in tide had action for a few golden trevally and Weyba Creek for some nice sized bream in the deeper sections.
The run out tide is fishing best so try lures, plastics and bait fish for trevally, flathead, jew and jacks or peeled prawns or blood worms for whiting and bream. On the big tides stay away from those crystal clear waters.
If you want to drop a crab pot there are still plenty of blue swimmers about.
The weather looks like a mixture between an odd shower to showers and nice patches of sun but I’m sure there is plenty of valued time to have on the water.
Until next week good luck from the guys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.

Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

A couple happy anglers on a recent Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventure were Bob from Lestershire in the UK with his grunter bream and Keith from Melbourne with a nice whiting.

Fishing has been solid this week with several nice sized bream and flathead caught at the river mouth, whiting in the Frying Pan and large trevally at the Woods Point and Bay. Noosa sound and the Noosaville reaches produced some grunter bream, whiting and flathead as did around the Noosa Marina.

Further up river past the Tewantin ski run and up at Lake Cooroibah was good for trevally, flathead and the odd school jew.

Best successes has come from peeled prawns, live bait fish and blood worms for the whiting with both tides fishing well.

For those venturing out into the evening and night there were chopper tailor active on pillies and garfish off Munna Beach and at the river mouth.

Blue swimmer crabs are still in numbers in the Noosaville reaches to the Woods Bay with the odd legal male mud crab among many large females but are illegal to keep. We need some good rains to flush more numbers out.

There is the odd shower about this week among some nice sunny patches and some prevailing S East winds at time but the river is well protected from them.

Until next week good luck from the guys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.

Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Fishing on a recent adventure tour this week, Ryan from Melbourne was stoked to land this nice 60cm flattie to make his holiday.

There are still lots of bream about throughout and most active. As well inside the river mouth a few trevally, flathead and the odd luderick caught off the rock wall. The Frying Pan has seen some whiting coming back and the Woods Bay is worth a try for some golden trevally, bream and flathead and the odd tailor.

There are a few trevally off Munna Point and the odd jack found after dark at the back of the Noosa Sound. Also from Tewantin to Lake Cooroibah is fishing well for bream and flathead mainly and best results are on peeled prawns or fresh mullet strips. Stick to the deeper holes and murky water as in the clear waters the fish are acting very timid and cautious.

The run out tide seems to be fishing best and if you can get some live bait fish your chances will increase.

There are still a few sand crabs and the odd muddy about if you want to drop in a pot or two and get yourself a feed of crabs.

Another perfect sunny week ahead with only a possible shower late Sunday and calm, warm days to enjoy a perfect days fishing on Noosa River.

Until next week good luck from the guys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.

A great day fisging and crabbing on Noosa River

James was over from England and had a great day out on our fishing charter boat. Landing a few nice bream like this 28cm one added to the adventure.
