Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Nemci from Brisbane went out on the Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventure tour and had a fabulous day catching flathead, bream, diamond trevally and more.

The conditions have been superb with only the odd shower about and plenty of good fish to be had. The river mouth and Frying Pan have produced trevally and nice sized flathead with an odd school jew about too.

There are trevally the odd tailor in Woods Bay and flathead, whiting and estuary cod in Weyba Creek and some good bream around jetties in Noosa Sound.

From Munna Point through the Noosaville stretches whiting can be had on the sand flats and nice bream in the gutters caught on mullet strips.

School jew are active before the ferry and ski run on live baits and try Lake Cooroibah for flathead, whiting and some trevally are on the bite.

Both tides are active but the change of tides are fishing slow an hour or so each side and try lures, soft plastics and live bait if available. Prawns and live worms are good for your bream, whiting and flathead as are mullet strips.

The blue swimmers are still plentiful in the Woods Bay and Weyba Creek areas with a few good muddies still about.

Mainly just cloudy this week with the possibility of a few showers developing this Sunday but all in all another great week to enjoy a spot of fishing.

Until next week good fishing from the guys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.

Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Noosaville’s brand new boat ramp is now complete with the luxury of floating boat dock facilities. That’s going to put a smile on the boaties faces.

Another perfect week of boating to be had with the Noosa River to Reef Family Fishing Classic being held last weekend. By the sounds it was another great success with boats and fisherman throughout our waterways weighing in all species and sizes with every fish returned to live another day.
Both tides are fishing well with good sized bream near the river mouth and Woods Bay also flathead and a few tailor being caught around the Frying Pan.
Try a few lures and live bait fish through the Noosaville reaches, back of Noosa Sound and Weyba Creek where you should be rewarded with a few flathead, trevally and/or maybe a mangrove jack if fishing very early or late evening.
Whiting are active on live worms through the lower reaches to just before the river ferry, on the sand flats in two to three feet of water.
Take a crab pot or two as there are several blue swimmers around the Woods Bay and Weyba Creek areas and the odd legal muddy to be had also.
With only a possible shower forecast for most days this week and weekend boating looks good with temperatures in the mid 20’s. Not bad for Winter.
Until next week good luck from the guys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.IMAG2524-1200
