Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Its so good to see the broad smiles of the kids who catch their first fish when holidaying in Noosa. Nice one too James.

The river mouth was still active for common catches of bream, whiting, flathead and trevally with the Wood’s Bay and back of the Noosa Sound good for a few flathead, trevally and the odd tailor. There were a few good whiting and flathead off Munna point and the sand flats through the Noosaville reaches with Lake Weyba good for a mixed bag of varieties.
The entrance of the first lake was producing good flathead, grunter bream, whiting and trevally with the odd jewfish and threadfin salmon between the top lakes. A few mangrove jacks were in the deeper holes and snags at first light and nights but will be shying off as the waters cool.
Lures, soft plastics and live bait fish have been best but keep on the move if quiet and live worms are giving good results when fishing for whiting.
The run out tide is best with the change of both tides very quiet. There are also lots of nice full mud crabs still throughout the river system to be had.
There is a chill in the air reminding us that winter is nearing but the days are nice in the sun. A few showers for Thursday and possibility of a shower on the weekend but still mid 20’s in the days to enjoy a session on the water.
Until next week good luck from the guys at Noosa Fishing and Crab

Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Up from Adelaide, on holidays over the ANZAC weekend Suzie landed this nice tailor near the river mouth on the Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventure boat.

Another busy weekend was had on the water with the Anzac long weekend and still some quality fish being caught. The river mouth and Woods Bay was active with flathead, bream, trevally and whiting. The back of Noosa Sound and the Munna bridge produced some nice trevally and the odd mangrove jack and estuary cod and Weyba Creek still offered lots of varieties in the deeper parts.
Along the Noosaville reaches up to Noosa Marina there were several reports of whiting, bream and flathead mainly caught on live worms.
Before the Noosa Ferry on the sand flats and at the mouth of Lake Cooroibah there were some good flathead, sooty grunter and the odd threadfin salmon if your lucky. The top entrance of first lake was good for whiting as well.
Live baitfish, lures and soft plastics are working well and both tides seem to be productive but very quiet at the turn of high and low tides.
There are still some good mud crabs being pulled in pots and some blue swimmers in the lower and Noosaville reaches too.
There are a few showers predicted for the middle of the week but forecast to clear up for another perfect weekend on Noosa waterways.
Until next week good luck from the guys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.
