noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Cody landed this nice 38cm flatty when up from Melbourne on the weekend that earned him fish of the week.
They caught and released about 30 to 40 fish when on tour on the Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.

The holidays are in full swing with lots of boating activity so we advise heading up river where a bit quieter and the murky waters cause the fish to be less timid.
However the river mouth still produced a few flathead, bream and the odd trevally and tailor. The frying pan and dog beach have whiting, flathead and bream on the move with best results are on live beach worms or yabbies.
The back of Noosa Sound and Weyba Creek is worth a try for bream, whiting and some estuary cod and jacks in the deeper parts around structures.
Mangrove jack a prize river fish are best targeted into the evening and night on live bait and also worth trying at the Munna and Sheraton bridges, around Noosa Marina and before and after Lake Cooroibah.
From Munna Point through the Noosaville reaches there are whiting on the sand flats and good fishing between the ski run and car ferry for whiting, grunter bream and flathead. The run in tides and top of each tide seem to be fishing best.
Both entrances of Lake Cooroibah are worth a try too with several varieties about.
Try taking a couple crab pots as there are plenty of sand crabs in Weyba Creek.
The weather is clearing up with only a possible shower about and some warm days ahead so don’t forget to slip, slop, slap and look out for fellow boaties.

Until next week good luck from the boys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.Cody Melb 38cm flathead

NOOSA RIVER WEEKLY FISHING REPORT

Katrina from Cronulla had a nice bonus experience with a fresh mud crab steamed up on board in a special sauce whilst on a fishing tour on the Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventure.

This week has seen some great catches of whiting through the stretches
of Noosaville with some tipping the ruler at 40cm. You must be patient for the bigger fish though as the smaller fish are quick at attacking the bait. But with patients there are some big flathead, trevally and tailor being caught at the river mouth, Woods Bay. Best baits have been live baitfish, yabbies and live worms.
There has been some quality flathead around the river mouth on the run in tide. The most successful results have been drifting using pilchards and white bait .
Weyba creek has produced average size whiting and flathead drifting over the sandbars and up towards the bridge. Between the top lakes has been good for grunter bream and the odd mangrove jack and maybe a threadfin salmon on lures and live baits.
Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.

Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Felicity from Brisbane caught this nice 48cm flathead while onboard the Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures tour.

This week has seen a lot more quality bream  in the lower reaches with catches  averaging  the 35cm mark. Woods Bays are producing good bream and flathead on mullet strips and pilchards. The rivermouth has also produced good size chopper tailor and trevally on hard body lures and silver slugs. Tewantin has produced flathead , bream and the odd jewfish on live beach worms. Quality flathead along with grunter bream and bream were caught around the ferry crossing  up to the first lake. There are still a few sand crabs through the Noosaville stretches.

Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.
