Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Wade was down from Curra for the day with his family and friends and was stoked to land this nice flatty whislt out on an O Boat Hire pontoon.

There were some good reports of catches mainly in the lower reaches this week. Inside the river mouth there were plenty of bream, tailor, trevally and the odd flathead, whilst the Frying Pan produced tailor and bream.

In the deeper parts of the Woods Bay and point, trevally, tailor and bream were active and at night there are a few mangrove jack to be sought at the back of Noosa Sound and Weyba Creek. The Noosaville reaches is producing nice whiting and bream up to 40 cm and more and around Noosa Marina at Tewanting was good for the odd jack, bream and chopper tailor.

Between the ski run and the ferry crossing, flathead, whiting and again bream were active and a few trevally, grunter bream and flathead on the bite just before Lake Cooroibah. A few school jew about too but the bigger ones are quite timid. Both tides are fishing kind and for baits try mullet strips and pillies for bream, prawns and live bait if available for all round varieties. Plastics and lures are also working well at the top of each tide.

It looks a stunning week ahead with blue skis and little wind, so take advantage of the great weather and get out in the river and wet a line.

Until next week good luck from the guys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.
