Great Fun, Great Food, Great Adventure... a Great Day!!!

Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Young Sam was up on holidays and ventured out on a Noosa Fishing and Crab Tour and had a great day. They pulled up a few crab pots, had a yummy steamed crab tasting and fished up to Lake Cooroibah. Plenty of fish were caught and released along with this nice flatty Sam landed.

Some good quality fish are about throughout the Noosa River waterways along with plenty of small fish that should be returned to fight another day.
The river mouth is producing flathead, bream, trevally and tailor with some large green backs among them. The Frying Pan and dog beach is worth a try for trevally, bream and flathead while the Woods Bay and Point has some good trevally and big whiting with a few chopper tailor about too.
Behind Hideaway Island and up Weyba Creek there are flathead, bream, whiting on the sand flats and some estuary cod. There are still lots of sand crabs up the creek too so don’t forget to bring a couple pots. Flathead, whiting and bream are in patches from Munna beach to Tewantin and trevally are active a couple hours after the high tide on lures or live baitfish.
There is still plenty of action up river with school jew around the ski run and seem to be taking live worms. Lots of flathead, grunter bream and whiting before the car ferry and at the mouth of Lake Cooroibah too. Into the evening and night on live baits the Jacks are still on the prowl in the deeper holes up river, around the mangroves and structures up Weyba Creek, the back of Noosa Sound and the river mouth rock wall. Each side of the current big tides are best fishing too.
The week looks another good one with only a possible shower most days.

Until next week good luck from the guys at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.Sam Sydney
