With the summer months here and the sun shining, there has been some great fish caught in the Noosa river lately. Some good size bream are being caught around the deeper holes and structures of the river, with prawns and mullet strips being the preferred baits. It’s still worth while throwing a line in around the shallows of the sand banks towards the river mouth, for there are still a few whiting around, preferably using live baits such as yabbies and worms. There has been reports of mangrove jack at the early hours of the morning around the Woods Bay area with mullet strips and live bait fish being the best baits. There has been reports of some decent flathead caught around Makepeace island and the Tewantin ferry crossing. The weather is fantastic along the river with the sun shining and the winds at a reasonable pace. The water has cleared right up, which is perfect for hiring a boat and dropping a line.

Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.
