With the passing of the full moon the tides are high and the fish are about. There has been lots of decent size trevally in the river caught anywhere from Munna Point all the way down to Tewantin Marina. Flathead have been amongst the river around the sand flats near the river mouth and the frying pan. The best bait for Flathead is prawns and soft plastics. Tailor have also been around the river mouth and woods bay. The best way to target tailor is with a popper at the early hours of the morning and the late afternoon. Whiting have been amongst the river near munna point and the Sound Bridge. When heading up the river there a couple of good spots to catch bream, whiting and Flathead including the ferry crossing and Lake Cooriobah.The best baits for whiting are live baits such as worms and yabbies. The weather is forecasted to be sunny with little chance of rain. Its nice and cool, there is no better time to get out on the Noosa river and wet a line.

The river has seen some great fish over the past week, up and around the rivermouth there has been reports of good size tailor and trevally. The best baits for trevally is pilchard fillets and mullet strips. Also around the rivermouth there has been reports of some great jewfish caught after sunset on live herring. Woods bay at the early hours of the morning is one of the best fishing spots in the river. There has also been some ripper whiting caught up at Lake Cooriobah area on live baits such as worms and yabbies. Bream are still around in numbers, mostly found amongst deeper holes and structures. The best baits for bream include prawns and mullet strips.There has also been some good flathead caught up the river between the Tewantin Marina and Makepeace island, mainly around sand flats. The most rewarding way to target flathead is using soft plastics and lures. There has been great reports of flathead and bream at munna point using prawns. The next week is forecasted to be sunny with light winds. It is a fantastic time to drop a line in the Noosa River.

Bream as always, are out and about around structures and sandbanks. The best baits for targeting bream include prawns and yabbies. Whiting have been caught around sandbars near the dog beach. When targeting whiting, live baits such as worms and yabbies are the best. There has been tailor caught at dawn and dusk amongst the frying pan. The best baits for tailor include mullet strips and pilchard fillets. Flathead have been biting well in the Noosa river lately. Lures such as soft plastics and prawns are the best baits. The best place to target Flathead include sand flats anywhere from the dog beach all the way to the cable ferry crossing past Tewantin. The cable ferry crossing area towards Makepeace Island has been a great spot to drop a line with rewarding reports. Around Lake Cooriobah there has been some trevally caught on live herring and prawns. The weather seems to be fairly sunny with slight chances of showers during the week. A fine weekend is forecasted. It’s a great time for getting outside and wetting a line.
