Pure stoke: Surfing legends, old guys, gals, tandem – even dogs take to their boards for the Noosa Festival of Surfing, the world’s biggest surf festival, Sat 7-14 March, First Point, Noosa Heads, with action in the waves all day and free live music and movies at the Beach Bar every afternoon. This Sat see the Womp CompWaterman Challengestand-up paddlingLegends Exhibition (5pm) with Mark Richards, Layne Beachley, Josh Constable, Taylor Jensen, Peter Townend and more. Tri sports: The Noosa Triathlon Multi Sport Festival has running, swimming and cycling events right through to the big triathlon on Sun 2 Nov. Market changes: The Noosa Farmers Market will be open this evening, Fri 31 Oct at the AFL grounds, Weyba Rd Noosaville, 4-9pm but will not operate this Sun 2 Nov due to Noosa Tri road closures. The Noosa Marina Markets will also not operate this Sun 2 Nov

Halloween fun: It’s creepy and it’s spooky this Halloween, Fri 31 Oct. Dress up for the biggest Halloween party in town at Noosa Marina, Tewantin, 6-8pm, with kids trick or treat giveaways, spooky boat rides, scary food stalls, face painting, a magician, live music, hair colour spraying. See Hotel Transylvania on the big screen outdoors in Noosaville Lions Park, Gympie Tce, Noosaville, 6.30pm, entry by donation and bring a rug for movie under the stars – have dinner in Noosaville before the movie.
