A Few decent sized Shovel nose sharks around putting up a good fight, caught and released.
As always bream caught all thought the river taking just about any bait.
Fishing has been great in the Noosa river with a range of species appearing again. During the past week whiting have been about in the normal shallow flats, mainly up and around the river mouth with live worms and yabbies being the preferred baits. Bream have been around in the usual places, around structures such as the Noosa Sound bridge ranging up to 35cm with prawns and mullet strips being the best baits. Up the river towards the cable ferry crossing fish have been on the bite, with several flathead and smaller trevally being caught and released and the bigger trevally being caught on live baits, while soft plastics are producing the quality fish. The entrance to the first lake has seen quality whiting and grunter bream. The weather looks pretty good for the next week with only the odd shower or two about.
Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.

With the holidays coming to an end the water ways are getting a bit less crowded which means the fish are not as scarce and are a little more hungry, Trevelly are on the move as herring are just starting to appear in more numbers on the higher tides. September still being the best month of the year to catch your elbow slapper whiting in the Noosa river with reports of many being caught right up to 45cm with your best baits being live yabbies and live worms. They are still pulling up plenty of flathead around the 35cm-45cm mark most people having better luck of soft plastics. Bream are around as always eating just about any bait but would recommend staying away from the shoreline to avoid toad fish stealing your bait.
Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.
There has been some good size Bream in the Noosa River, mainly around deeper holes and structures. The best bait, when targeting bream is prawns and chicken meat. Whiting have been around the sand flats closer to the frying pan and Noosa River mouth. When fishing for whiting live baits such as worms and yabbies are the best baits. Flathead have been around down the bottom end of the river between the first ski run and the mouth of Lake Cooirobah. Soft plastics are generally the best form of fishing although mullet strips will also do the trick. As always the best time to get out and have a fish is the early hours of the morning and the late hours of the afternoon. There has been some great reports when fishing in Woods bay and the Noosa sound area late at night. When fishing in the Noosa river the best tide is the run out. The weather this week is tipped to be sunny with some moderate winds. It’s a great time to get out and drop a line down an estuary.
Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.
Barry and his mate pulled up these quality fish aboard the fishing crab adventure afternoon charter.
The river has seen some great fish over the past week, up and around the rivermouth there has been reports of good size tailor and trevally. The best baits for trevally is pilchard fillets and mullet strips. Also around the rivermouth, there has been reports of some great Jewish caught after sunset on live herring. Woods bay at the early hours of the morning is one of the best fishing spots in the river. There has also been some ripper whiting caught up at Lake Cooriobah area on live baits such as worms and yabbies. Bream are still around in numbers, mostly found around deeper holes and structures. The best baits for bream include prawns and mullet strips. There has also been some good flathead caught up the river between the Tewantin Marina and Makepeace island, mainly around sand flats. The most rewarding way to target flathead is using soft plastics and lures. There has been great reports of flathead and bream at munna point using prawns. The next week is forecasted to be sunny with light winds. It is a fantastic time to drop a line in the Noosa River.
Until next week good luck from the boys at O Boats.
