Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Tom from MelbourneTom from Melbourne was stoked to have this huge muddie cooked up in a special steamed sauce whilst he was fishing on the Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventure boat.

The school holidays are building up with lots of boating activity causing the fish to get a little timid however patients will still be rewarded with some good fish.
The river mouth although slow still is producing some bream, flathead, trevally and the odd good tailor.
The Frying Pan and Woods Bays have whiting, flathead and bream on the bite and the back of Noosa Sound and Weyba Creek is worth a shot for some trevally, flathead, and the odd estuary cod and jacks into the evening. From Munna Point through the Noosaville reaches to Tewantin is good for whiting on the sand flats, beam and flathead in the deeper parts and live worms seem the best bait.
Between the ski run and car ferry there are an assortment of fish on the bite and some larger predators about too whilst up before Lake Cooroibah there are flathead, grunter bream and mangrove jack. Jacks and jew are still on the go between the top lakes and maybe a threadfin salmon as well. Try mullet strips or live bait for best results. The last of the run out and incoming tides are more active. With the recent rains there are a few nice muddies washed down river too.
Just a shower or two and a late storm midweek and into the weekend but there will be plenty breaks and sunshine to get some good fishing in.

Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Natalie and Charlie over from Toowoomba were stoked to land this thumper whiting on their Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures trip.
It’s great to see the kids as well as the big kids have so much fun.
Well the school holidays are here and the river has got busy so the lower reaches were a bit quiet with a lot of timid fish about. However the river mouth still produced a few bream and flathead whilst in the Frying Pan there are whiting and flathead. The Woods Bay and Point is still good for flathead, tailor and some trevally and the back of Noosa Sound and Weyba Creek a few mangrove jack and trevally. Try the deeper holes and around the snags or structures.
It’s fairing a bit better up river where quieter with whiting, flathead and bream being caught right through from Munna Point to past the ski run and up to the mouth of Lake Cooroibah with a few chopper tailor thrown in as well.
If you venture up between the top lakes late into the evening with some livies or mullet strips you should get into some good sized jacks and jew too.
Both tides are fishing fine but avoid the bottom of each cycle if you can and if targeting whiting and bream live beach worms are the go.
With a bit of a downpour this week its worth taking a few crab pots with you as hopefully a few muddies will be on the move and washed out.
It looks like a few showers about this week but likely to fine up for another fabulous weekend on the Noosa River so good fishing and boat safely.

Until next week good luck from the guys at Noosa Fishing and Crab AdventuresS6300698

Noosa River Weekly Fishing Report

Maria landed this prize sized whiting on a fishing adventure on Noosa Fishing and Crab last weekend.
She had a great holiday up from Canberra and loved her fishing experience in Noosa River.

The river mouth has been firing with good catches of trevally, flathead, tailor and the odd kingfish with the Frying Pan and Woods Bay producing nice whiting, and bream as well as the odd tailor.
Weyba Creek and the back of Noosa Sound is worth a try for mangrove jack around the structures, moses perch and estuary cod while Munna Point through the Noosaville reaches has whiting, bream and flathead on the bite.
Noosa Marina is always worth a try for jacks after dark and before the car ferry and first lake is the go for flathead, whiting and grunter bream. There is also the odd school jew, threadfin salmon and jacks on the prowl each side of Lake Cooroibah and the top lake. Try live herring, white bait or lures for larger predators and live sand worms or prawns for whiting, bream and flathead.
Both tides are fishing well but if you can avoid the bottom of the low tide.
There are a few sand crabs up Weyba Creek too so well worth throwing in a couple pots on your way out fishing.
Warm days ahead this week with the chance of some late storms over the weekend but plenty of time to get in a good days fishing in Noosa River.

Until next week good luck from the lads at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures.Noosariverfishingcrabbingnoosariveradventuretours NoosaHeads www.noosariverandfishingadventures.com.au Maria Canberra
